ahirih Preschool opened at the beginning of 2018 in response to the challenges of vulnerable families with young children who out of necessity were often left unattended at home while their parents performed daily duties. Kakuma refugee camp in is a dangerous environment for all people, but in particular for young unsupervised children.In response to this, Faulu Productions have created a "community hub" that performs many functions.

-Early childhood education that follows the Kenyan National curriculum

-Providing a very important daily meal for young children

-Provide a safe and nurturing environment for young children

-Provide ongoing paid employment for staff

-Teach important life skills (eg. Covid safety, gardening) that can be taken home and shared with family.

Objective of this program is ;

-Providing young children within the age range of 3 to 6 years with the chance of quality education.

Keeping young children safe and protecting them from domestic incidents

-Enabling the parents of these children to easily run their daily activities without any the stress of also looking after children.

-Encouraging these young children to become independent thinkers and inquirers.

-Increasing the literacy of refugees at Kakuma Refugee Camp.

-Preparing children to become future role models and leaders.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

-Teach English, Math and other subjects, organize games and arts

-Share your love and care with children

-Share your culture and empower children

-Provide support for extracurricular activities

Participating in our teaching volunteer project at kakuma refugee camp in Kenya will offer you the opportunity in helping others and making the world a better place to live. It will also make your CV shine as well as offering you the opportunity in acquiring a valuable work experience in an African country and putting into use your creative skills.

Faulu productions is a nonprofit community-based organisation, established in 2015 within Kenya’s Kakuma refugee camp, is dedicated to empowering young individuals, creating a sustainable and secure environment for social change, and offering education to marginalised communities, particularly vulnerable populations.
