Furvivors Wonderland Horse Rescue & Farm Animal Sanctuary is a nurturing haven dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and uplifting of at-risk horses, while simultaneously extending our compassionate reach to small farm animals in need. Within our welcoming environment, horses may find a lifelong sanctuary as esteemed residents enjoying their well-deserved retirement, or, when circumstances permit, they may be lovingly fostered or adopted into caring homes that offer them a bright future.
As a proudly registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we thrive on the heartfelt contributions of an animal-loving community of volunteers and are sustained through the generosity of our donors. At present, we find ourselves amidst a remarkable growth phase; the escalating demand for horse rescue and sanctuary services is surpassing our ability to promptly address this urgent need. In light of this situation, we are actively seeking an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Barn Manager to join our dedicated team.
The Assistant Barn Manager position entails a commitment of 4 to 5 days each week, with each shift lasting approximately 2 hours, encompassing both morning and evening duties, which culminates in an estimated total of 10 hours per week. There is the possibility for additional hours, particularly during peak periods, including holidays, which are essential for maintaining our operations.
This role will be carried out in-person and as a volunteer, and we kindly request that only those with a sincere commitment to fulfilling this role respond to our call.
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Prior experience working with horses, with a special emphasis on rehabilitation efforts being highly valuable.
- A keen attention to detail, complemented by robust organizational skills.
- A heartfelt desire to contribute to a mission that is not only rewarding but also transformative.
- A valid driver's license and a reliable mode of transportation.
- A thorough understanding of farm duties and barn maintenance responsibilities.
- The ability to lead fellow volunteers and facilitate informative orientations for newcomers.
- A self-sufficient work ethic, marked by the ability to identify necessary tasks and complete them without requiring extensive oversight.
- A passion for assisting our organization in achieving its lofty mission and fulfilling our collective goals.
This position holds the promise of evolving into a permanent role, offering significant opportunities for personal and professional growth within our cherished organization for the right person.
