Social Media Content Support for Ripples in Africa

Help amplify the voices of African women entrepreneurs and share our impact stories with the world! Ripples in Africa is seeking a creative and passionate Social Media Content Support volunteer to engage our community and inspire action.

Key Responsibilities:

- Content Creation:
- Develop engaging social media posts that highlight our work with 17,200 women entrepreneurs and 45,000 children.
- Create visually appealing graphics, short videos, and infographics that showcase our impact and Yaji Spice products.
- Craft compelling captions that tell the stories of the women and communities we support.

- Content Strategy:
- Collaborate with our team to align social media content with ongoing campaigns and initiatives.
- Develop content calendars for various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
- Identify trending topics and hashtags relevant to our mission of women's empowerment and sustainable agriculture.

- Community Engagement:
- Respond to comments and messages, fostering a vibrant online community.
- Engage with partner organizations and influencers to expand our reach.
- Monitor and report on social media metrics and audience growth.

- Storytelling:
- Transform impact data (e.g., 27% income increase for women entrepreneurs) into shareable social media narratives.
- Highlight success stories from our climate-resilient farming programs and Yaji Spice's ethical trade initiatives.

Required Skills:

- Proficiency in social media platforms and best practices.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with ability to adapt tone for different platforms.
- Creative eye for visual content and basic graphic design skills.
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in nonprofit or cause-related social media management.
- Knowledge of West African cultures and social issues.
- Basic video editing skills.
- Understanding of social media analytics and reporting.

Impact You'll Make:

- Increase awareness of our programs, potentially attracting more donors and partners.
- Amplify the voices and stories of the women entrepreneurs we support.
- Educate a global audience about sustainable agriculture and ethical trade practices.
- Build an engaged online community passionate about creating positive change in Africa.

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours/week (flexible)
Location: Remote

To equip women with the tools, training and resources needed to feed, generate income to control their future and secure their children’s future. We co-create programs with each community, collaborating with government bodies to build holistic solutions tailored to each community’s unique needs. Our programs aim to train, build and scale. We work with women and youth, training them on modern, eco-friendly agriculture techniques to help them transform their economies to be a more inclusive, productive and sustainable one..

Ripples works in Ghana, Madagascar and Nigeria, and has worked funded and provided funding that has benefited over 6,000 since it's inception in the UK in 2005. We currently have a Farm project: http://ripplesfoundation.ngo/ripples-farms.php; and an Experential Internship program: http://ripplesfoundation.ngo/internship.php
We want to encourage American youth to develop international lenses and become immersed in a rich culture where they are part of the solution as well as create a hands on learning environment on creative ways to humanitarian efforts. We are in partnership with a several universities and successfully completed a trips with students from Europe and the United States. We want to raise funds and awareness for the program. We have several reports and videos from past students after their visits. We have several projects going on in Africa which served as an internship for the students.
