Job Description
The Community Outreach Manager will be responsible for leading our volunteer Online Events team, building collaborative partnerships, engaging members of the health community, and partnering with internal departments. The goal of this position is to develop a series of virtual community engagement events designed to enhance HHP’s peer-to-peer support, patient advocacy, and personal health education initiatives.
Essential Duties
- Leading a team to plan and execute signature community outreach programs via virtual panels and events.
- Actively engaging and building collaborative partnerships with external organizations and individuals within the healthcare and patient community.
- Partnering with internal departments to achieve community engagement and participation goals.
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive database of key community contacts and maintaining relationships with partners in order to gather feedback and involve them in planning our community engagement initiatives.
- Overseeing the recruitment, planning, coordination, and evaluation of programs, processes, procedures, systems, and standards.
- Preparing reports and maintaining records related to new and ongoing outreach initiatives, programs, and activities.
Public Speaking Duties
- Leading our virtual events designed to engage patients, patient advocates, and healthcare professionals, which may include making introductions and participating in the creation of presentations.
- Making meaningful connections with people from various backgrounds.
- Researching and participating in opportunities to recruit panelists and potential event attendees.
Qualifications
Experience in any of the following industries:
- Health education
- Event planning and coordination
- Community relations, outreach and engagement
- Professional education coordination
- Social work
- Event programming
Time Commitment
This is a volunteer role which requires 5-10 hours per week.
