We are Mentor a Promise, Inc., a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to work with students that reside in NYC shelters and provide supportive services. All services are rooted in our philosophy of supporting students in their educational journey and help them identify their career path.
We are looking for a compassionate, highly motivated, organized, intuitive Music Teacher with a passion for working with young people from underrepresented communities. If you'd like to help enrich the lives of our students through music, mentor young musicians, and engage students through interactive, educational experience that deepen their relationship to and understanding of music but mostly importantly self growth. Help nurture the future.
We expect to have 10-20 students enrolled in this program and it will take place in person on the designated shelter (to be determined). You will meet with young people regularly at an after-school schedule to create music, while listening, advising, connecting with them. We want to work with you, even if you have little to no previous experience, but can demonstrate a commitment to nurturing the future of artistic excellence and the development of the next generation of musicians.
