Job Description : The DMV Music Alliance is looking for someone to support and execute social media strategies alongside social media managers to enhance our organization's online presence, engage with our target audience, and promote our brand and initiatives. You will work closely with the marketing team to achieve social media objectives and support the organization's goals.


Responsibilities :


  1. Social Media Strategy and Planning:
  • Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends and best practices to inform social media strategy and content creation.
  • Identify key social media metrics and goals, and establish benchmarks to measure the success of social media efforts.
  • Edit content calendar, ensuring regular and consistent posting across social media platforms.

  1. Content Creation and Management:
  • Create engaging and relevant content for social media platforms, including text, images, videos, and infographics.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, is optimized for each social media platform, and resonates with the target audience.
  • Utilize storytelling techniques to effectively communicate the organization's mission, values, and impact.

  1. Social Media Platform Management:
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions on social media in a timely and professional manner.
  • Utilize social media management tools to schedule posts, track performance, and monitor analytics.
  • Stay updated on platform algorithm changes, new features, and emerging trends to optimize content and engagement strategies.

  1. Community Engagement and Audience Growth:
  • Engage with the online community, respond to comments and messages, and foster meaningful conversations.
  • Identify and engage with influencers, partners, and industry leaders to expand reach and enhance brand reputation.
  • Develop strategies to grow the organization's social media audience, increase followers, and drive engagement.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to leverage social media for lead generation, conversions, and customer retention.

  1. Social Listening and Insights:
  • Monitor social media conversations and trends related to the organization, its industry, and relevant topics.
  • Conduct social listening to gain insights into audience preferences, needs, and sentiment.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics, generate reports, and provide recommendations for optimization and improvement.

Requirements :


  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, trends, best practices, and analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of grammar, spelling, and tone.
  • Proficiency in content creation and copywriting for social media.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Creative thinking and ability to generate engaging and innovative content ideas.
  • Strong analytical skills to track and interpret social media performance metrics.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of social media advertising and paid promotion is a plus.

Founded by DMV area music professionals FOR area music professionals, the DMV Music Alliance is a grassroots, non-profit, volunteer organization. It’s goals are dedicated to bringing together the organizations and individuals from all facets of the regional music ecosystem, all genres, and all communities across the DMV, so that together we can develop the services, resources, networks, and tools needed for both our regional musicians as well as our regional industry professionals - from every area genre, role in the industry, background, and area - to grow their careers in music here in the DMV.
