Human Health Project's (HHP) Mission (To improve the health of the underserved and vulnerable through holistic information, education and advocacy) has evolved to become centered on Health Literacy, with the successful piloting of four programs under that umbrella, a) Understanding your Healthcare System (Patient advocacy workshops and follow up support), b) Learning Academy courses on topics such as Your Rights as a Patient" to "How to research online as a Patient" etc, c) Online Peer to Peer Panel Events and d) Peer to peer health condition real world data collection, analysis and sharing.

Job Overview:

We are looking for an energetic, self-directed, and organized Development (Grants) Coordinator Specialist to coordinate the creation and research and applications for grants for Human Health Project (HHP). The Development Coordinator Specialist will be tasked with coordinating all aspects of grant research, application and follow up. You will play a pivotal role in growing the funding of our organization and connecting with thought leaders in the health literacy community.

Ideal candidates for this position should be creative and web savvy. Ultimately, the outstanding Development Coordinator Specialist should have a firm grasp of the life cycle of not for profit development and understand the importance of maintaining organized records.

Development Coordinator Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Work with team members across HHP to determine future grant applications
  • Manage the recruitment and work of grant writer volunteers
  • Lead weekly team calls agreeing deliverables with team members
  • Liaise with the programs and other key HHP teams in relation to their funding needs.
  • Manage the grant application life cycle

Online Development Coordinator Specialist Requirements:

  • Understanding of the development/grants landscape
  • Thorough understanding of grant application coordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Firm grasp of business communications etiquette.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of grant application strategies.
  • Broad knowledge of best practices related to grant writing and management
