Awaken Pittsburgh is a growing and impactful 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering well-being, empathy, and compassion for all by teaching and encouraging mindfulness and meditation practices. We strive to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and communities through our programs and initiatives. Our dedicated team of volunteers plays a crucial role in achieving our mission, and we are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to help us effectively manage and engage our volunteer community.

Position Overview:

As the Volunteer Coordinator at Awaken Pittsburgh, you will be responsible for recruiting, coordinating, and supporting our team of dedicated volunteers. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a difference and contributing to a meaningful cause.

Responsibilities:

• Support recruitment of volunteers, including outreach campaigns, online platforms, and community partnerships.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date volunteer records, including contact information, availability, and skills.
• Collaborate with program coordinator, marketing manager and executive director to assess volunteer needs and develop volunteer roles that align with organizational goals.
• Evaluate volunteer programs and initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies for growth.

About You:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers effectively.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records and data.
• Proficiency in using technology and software for volunteer management, scheduling, and communication.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Awaken Pittsburgh.
• Has 3-6 hours per week to commit to the position.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in volunteer coordination, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
• Knowledge of volunteer management best practices and a passion for creating a positive volunteer experience.
