Are you looking to serve older adults in your community? Would you like to discuss the literature you're reading?

Once a month, our fantastic volunteer, Kim, and a group of members gather to discuss the books and media that people reviewed and want to share. We need a volunteer to back up our regular person when she is unavailable, 4-5 times per year, to order snacks for the group, pay with a gift card, and record the notes of recommendations to be shared the next month. Around 10 people typically attend this event.

The schedule:
When: The fourth Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m. Upcoming Dates: January 22nd, February 26th, March 26th.

Where: Mescalito, 2323 Polk St, at Union.

The hard truth is that people's communities dwindle as they age. This monthly reading circle creates a relaxed environment for people to meet each other and build connections. Loneliness has just been proven to be as deadly as smoking a pack a day, so we're doing everything we can to help people keep their community strong.

If you're interested in joining this delightful group, email volunteer@nextvillagesf.org or call 415-574-0156 to contact the volunteer coordinator!
