Hello! FoodCycle LA is hosting a magical summer dinner on Sunday June 4th at Little City Farm withChef Francesco Lucatorto, featuring live jazz, fresh Italian inspired vegetarian bites, and a silent auction. This event is to help raise money for a new electric van which will allow us to pick up an additional 25k lbs of food per week, feeding 20,000 hungry Angelenos and eliminating 100,000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions each week.
FOODCYCLE LA MISSION: At FoodCycle, we work to synchronously solve two of the biggest problems facing the world: food insecurity and climate damaging food waste. Over 40% of all the food produced in the US is wasted, while 45 million people lack access to healthy food. We’re working to change that by forming key strategic relationships with our partners in government, tech, the food space, and a growing network of nonprofits throughout the greater Los Angeles area to divert food from landfills and get it to the people who need it most.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: We are looking for individuals with some experience in food service to help with our event from about 2-8:30pm on Sunday, June 4th. Come experience the amazing atmosphere and lend a hand to help us combat food insecurity and climate change!
Volunteers needed:
5 server volunteers 3-7
2 kitchen volunteers 2-7
5 clean up volunteers 6-8:30PM

Description
FoodCycle is seeking passionate and dedicated volunteers to help further our mission in fighting hunger and ending food waste. We need volunteers on an ongoing basis to recover food from various restaurants, grocery stores, and food markets around Los Angeles. In addition to Food Recovery Drivers, we are looking for assistance building up our social media presence across all platforms.
