Help pull and remov e invasive iceplant ( Carpobrotus ) and other invasive species to enhance coastal strand habitat on the Silver Strand S tate Beach bayside ! Volunteers will use hand tools to complete this work. Iceplant covered much of the bayside until the mid- 2000’s when a removal effort began and t o our delight, native plants flourished where the iceplant once dominated . Today, the effort continue s to remove invasive weed s to make space for beach evening-primrose and other native dune plants to grow . Ages 12 and older are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a signed waiver by their guardian). Lunch will be provided.
