The Literacy Alliance program provides an opportunity for adults to improve literacy and prepare for the high school equivalency test.

The Literacy Alliance is seeking caring and companionate volunteer tutor for six months. Working one-on-one with a student.
Tutoring involves helping students increase their reading skills through coarse work that has been laid out by our teaching staff. Training, materials, and teaching guides are provided. You would be guiding and assisting the student through their coarse work.

We are asking volunteers to committee to one day a week for a minimum of six months. Student has transportation to Hessen Cassel library in the evening from 6:00pm-7:30 pm; flexible on the day.

Learning centers enable adult students to prepare to earn their High School Equivalency (HSE, past: GED) and strengthen basic skills for job training and post secondary education. One-on-one tutoring helps adults strengthen their basic reading, math, and language skills.
