Love seniors? Love giving manicures? Student in NYC area? Attend a makeover at the Manny Cantor Center with GG National!
No experience necessary! Just bring yourself and a positive attitude.
GlamourGals is a nonprofit that organizes and inspires teen volunteers to provide ongoing companionship and complimentary beauty makeovers to seniors living in senior homes. GlamourGals creates a movement of compassionate teen leaders working to end elder isolation. Chapters are student-led and based in high schools (grades 9-12) and universities. We currently have over 60 active chapters across the country.
What you can do as a volunteer:
- Connect with seniors in your community and improve their overall wellbeing
- Participate in manicures to help seniors feel young again
- Provide seniors with a restored sense of dignity through personal attention and the warmth of caring touch
- Gain the opportunity to listen to and share their stories
- Bridge the gap between generations in your community

Mission Statement
GlamourGals Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to organize and support volunteer chapters in high school and college who provide companionship and our signature program of complimentary beauty makeovers to elderly residents in senior care. Our impact is two fold: Elderly residents in care feel a renewed sense of community and self-worth. Teen Volunteers gain essential leadership skills demonstrating empathy and compassion through our intergenerational programming.
Description
GlamourGals is a nonprofit organization that organizes student-led chapters based in high schools (grades 9-12) and colleges across the country. Rachel Doyle founded GlamourGals in 2000 in memory of her grandmother. The first GlamourGals makeover took place in Commack, New York with only three volunteers. We currently have more than 1,700 volunteers in 16 states, and 100 chapters visiting senior homes in their communities. Our volunteers provide seniors with a restored sense of dignity through personal attention and warmth of caring touch, as well as the opportunity to share their stories. We also focus on leadership development for our volunteers, providing them with leadership training, mentorships, and professional development workshops.
