We are currently seeking a committed and passionate individual to join the Board of Directors for our non-profit organization, which serves refugee women internationally. Our organization is based in Los Angeles but operates globally, providing support and assistance to women who have been displaced from their homes due to conflict, persecution, or other forms of violence.

As a member of our Board of Directors, you will play a critical role in guiding the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring that we are fulfilling our mission, and helping us to achieve our goals. Some of the key responsibilities of our Board members include:

  1. Governance and Oversight: As a Board member, you will be responsible for ensuring that our organization is operating in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and best practices. You will also help to set policies and guidelines that ensure the effective and efficient operation of our organization.

  2. Financial Management: You will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of our organization, ensuring that we have the resources we need to achieve our mission and that we are using those resources effectively and efficiently.

  3. Fundraising and Development: As a Board member, you will be responsible for helping to raise funds for our organization and supporting our development efforts. This may include identifying potential donors, assisting with grant applications, and helping to plan fundraising events.

  4. Strategic Planning: You will play a critical role in helping to guide the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring that we are always focused on our mission and that we are constantly evolving and improving our programs and services.

  5. Advocacy and Outreach: You will help to raise awareness of our organization and our mission, advocating for the needs of refugee women and promoting the importance of our work.

To be considered for this position, you should have a strong commitment to our mission and a deep understanding of the challenges facing refugee women. You should also have experience in one or more of the areas outlined above, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

Our spheres of focus are: Adult Basic Education, Health Literacy, Workforce Preparation, Family Literacy and Community Building. Each sphere intersects greatly, and if these spheres are addressed for women, the benefits do not end there - the benefits ripple throughout their families and communities.
