Do you enjoy helping others learn new skills or have a back ground in English Language Learning?
The Literacy Alliance is seeking voluneers for our English Learning Classrooms. Volunteers are provided training to be a classroom tutor.
Knowledge of a second language is not required.
The ELL classrooms are lead by an ELL teacher. Tutors are there to help assist with pronunciations, practice conversations, and aid in small group activities.
There is flexible commitment. We have volunteers that do every other week or only attend for the first two hours of class weekly.

The Literacy Alliance strives to end illiteracy by teaching adults through learning centers, literacy programs, and tutoring services that empower individuals to succeed at work, at home, and in the community.

Description
Learning centers enable adult students to prepare to earn their High School Equivalency (HSE, past: GED) and strengthen basic skills for job training and post secondary education. One-on-one tutoring helps adults strengthen their basic reading, math, and language skills.

- Orientation or Training
- We are asking for a commitment of one day a week for the six months. There is flexibility to fit your schedule.
- Orientation and training are a combined event. The session takes a total of 2 hours max with breaks included. They are done in groups sessions either at our Summit location.
