Neighborhood Captains communicate the needs of Midlands Orphan Relief (MOR) to their local communities and act as donation drop-off points. They commit to driving donated items to MOR’s main Distribution Center as needed.
There is no major commitment required. There are many folks who cannot bring their donations over during business hours, so Neighborhood Captains serve as drop-off points for those who cannot bring their donations to MOR themselves. They do commit to transporting these items to MOR's Distribution Center, but this can be done at your convenience.

Neighborhood Captains are a critical part of MOR's mission. They communicate our most critical needs with the surrounding community and create an opportunity for community members to donate to MOR regardless of their schedule.

For any questions regarding MOR's Neighborhood Captain program, please contact Kate Long at Kate@LORKids.org.

About Midlands Orphan Relief

Location:

D Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Lowcountry Orphan Relief and Midlands Orphan Relief is to provide support services and aid to meet the needs of South Carolina children identified as at-risk or suffering from abandonment, abuse and/or neglect.

Description

Midlands and Lowcountry Orphan Relief work directly with other nonprofits, schools, foster parents, and government agencies to identify the individual needs of these and other children in severe situations. We intervene at critical junctures in the lives of these children, with products and services that provide a strong, positive impact. Since 2006, we have clothed over 41,000 children in South Carolina. Community volunteers at our Distribution Center collect and shelve donations. They lovingly fill Care Kits of necessary items for children from area shelters, foster care and those removed from the custody of their parents. The Care Kits include 2 weeks of clothing, toiletries, shoes, books, stuffed animals, and school supplies and we aim to fill all orders within 48 hours of the request.
