Arts 2

The Sharp Experience. It is what makes Sharp different from other providers. We focus on patient centered care and that is exactly how volunteers make a difference every shift here at Sharp Metro Campus. Patient and Family-Centered Care is responsive to priorities, preferences, and values of patients and their families.

Providing extraordinary patient care often goes beyond traditional medical treatments. Sharp HealthCare's Arts for Healing Program is designed to address the physical, psychological, cognitive, spiritual and social needs of patients. Funded completely by donations through Sharp HealthCare Foundation, the program aims to provide comfort and relieve stress and anxiety for both patients and their loved ones, often leading to a faster recovery.

Arts for Healing projects and activities include:

  • Art projects
  • Beading
  • Card making
  • Painting
  • Seasonal craft projects

*All volunteers receive a $6 meal credit in the cafeteria during their shift. *

You do not need to be an extraordinary artist to be successful at this position! You need to have the desire to bring comfort to those who are in the hospital with a warm smile and art supplies!

Shifts are about 2 hours long at least once per week.
