You’ll facilitate groups that are designed to provide emotional, educational and social support for persons with Alzheimeer's disease, family, friends and/or caregivers. Support groups provide an opportunity for participants to meet and develop a mutual support system that will help maintain the health and well being of its members. The Alzheimer's Association provides training, guidance and materials to the facilitators, seeking to enhance their communication skills, as well as their knowledge of resources, to serve and assist families in need.

Mission Statement
We lead Colorado in the fight against Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by increasing the understanding of dementia and its impact on family and community, providing information and support for those affected, and promoting the advancement of research.
Description
The Alzheimer's Association Colorado Chapter works with diagnosed individuals, families, caregivers and health care professionals to provide care and support for those who are affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. We provide a 24/7 Helpline; offer free and confidentail Care Consultations; manage 90 support groups monthly; oversee Memories in the Making art program in area nursing homes; present educational programs across the state; and assist in enrolling persons with the disease in safety programs. We offer culturally approptiate support for Latinos, African Americans and the LGBT community. Several time during the year we have fundraising events, including: The Walk to END Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, the Memories in the Making Gala and Riv/ALZ.
