We have several patients on hospice who are veterans. There are not enough ways to express our admiration and appreciation for these amazing men & women. I need volunteers who are veterans to visit with these patients. Listen to their stories, share your stories and sometimes just be present. Some of them are "old soldiers" and they all have great history with the military. Just an hour or two of your week or month would mean so much to them. Our veterans are homebound, they cannot get out and see the world. You can bring the world to them. I come from a proud military family and I know your sacrifices. This is why I am in charge of our Veteran Initiative Program here at Alamo Hospice. We go above & beyond for our patients and have a special program for our veterans. Any time you have to give for a visit will be greatly appreciated. Volunteering is flexible, I will work with your schedule.
