Educators help facilitate hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities at Discovery Station. They assist the Director of Operations in leading weekly STEAM Saturday programs and pop-up activities throughout the day. Prepare supplies for engineering challenges like robot claws, amaze children with chemistry while making elephant toothpaste, and embrace the mess after making homemade paint! There is also an opportunity for the STEAM Educator to volunteer outside of normal operating hours at various community outreach events throughout the year.

Duties

• Facilitate hands-on STEAM activities
• Help children use problem-solving to achieve their vision
• Assist in the preparation of supplies
• Maintain cleanliness of the Program Classroom and other exhibits as assigned.
• Engage children's natural curiosity.

Skills

• Positive attitude and Friendly Disposition
• Ability to provide excellent Customer Service
• Loves working with children
• Comfortable initiating conversation with visitors and sharing information
• Experience teaching or STEM background preferred but not required
