Hello! Are you a people person? Are you looking to see the difference you make? Welcome to the Volunteers of America Smiling Spoon Lunch Program! Lunches are available to any adult 60+ at no cost. Through this program, volunteers serve lunches at different sites around Larimer County Monday-Friday. Currently, we are looking for volunteers at The Fort Collins Senior Center and Chilson Senior Center in Loveland.
As a volunteer, you choose one recurring day to serve lunch and that is your day for the week. We ask volunteers to be able to commit for at least 3 months for one day per week to serve lunch.
Not only is it rewarding to volunteer and give back to your community, but through the Smiling Spoon Lunch Program, you will see the difference you are making in every meal served!
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome diners and check them in for their meal
- Work with other volunteers to serve the lunches to the doors of our diners
- Follow daily dining site tasks for set up and clean up
*Training on procedures and proper food safety will be provided, as well as ongoing support
Primary Qualifications:
- Friendly and caring personality
- Successful completion of an application and background check (fees for background check are covered by Volunteers of America)
- Physical mobility to handle routine kitchen tasks and the ability to stand for during the shift

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Volunteers of America provides volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 years and older to use their skills, insight and lifetime experiences to assist residents and non-profit agencies in the county. RSVP also offers a variety of programs which provide services and enhance the quality of life for seniors.
