VTN (Volunteer Transportation Network) Volunteer drivers provide rides for Veterans located within the Anoka County area to and from the Northwest Metro VA Clinic in Ramsey, MN, or the Minneapolis VA Medical Center for their appointments. Drivers use a VA supplied vehicle to transport our Veterans and will start and end their day at the Northwest Metro VA Clinic at Ramsey, MN. Shifts are Monday through Friday.
VHA Directive 1193 and VA Handbook 5019 requires that Volunteers in this role have a documented COVID-19 vaccine and Flu vaccine (during flu season). Volunteer drivers are required to disinfect/sanitize the DAV vehicles between transports with provided supplies.
Volunteer drivers must:
Pass a basic physical exam and immunization screening with Minneapolis VA Occupational Health
Provide, and maintain, a copy of their safe driving record
Provide proof of personal automobile insurance
Consent to fingerprinting and successfully pass background check
Complete initial and annual training for VA Volunteer Transportation Network Drivers
A resume is not required but can be submitted before or during the initial new volunteer appointment with CDCE.
