Our hospice program needs volunteers who are willing to share some of their time and talents to help patients and their families who are dealing with end-of-life issues. It is a unique opportunity to support others who have a life-limiting illness.

A Direct Care Volunteer will be educated and trained on the hospice philosophy and our care model. Our training will give you the confidence and ability to understand your role as a hospice volunteer.

The Direct Care Volunteer is additional support to patients and families. Support is providing active listening and communication, respecting belief systems, and sensitivity to emotional maturity. The responsibilities include:

  • hold a hand, share a story
  • send a card
  • listen, read or sing
  • make gifts for patients
  • run errands or perform light housekeeping
  • share flowers, bake or garden
  • make phone calls
  • offer respite to caregivers

Discover the best fit for you based on your interests!

We are committed to clinical excellence with compassion and dignity when life matters most. We are here.
