Interested in supporting pet owners in your own community? You can help by delivering pet food and other supplies to homebound clients of Seattle Humane's Pet Food Bank, which collects and distributes pet food donations for pets belonging to low-income families or pet owners experiencing hardship. This program provides nearly 82,000 meals per month of donated pet food delivered by volunteers to families and food banks throughout the region.

Location: Drivers needed for one location in Seattle's 98121 area code. Supply pick-up occurs at Seattle Humane's campus in Bellevue, and volunteer drivers transport orders from Bellevue directly to client homes/facilities.

Schedule: Flexible! Deliveries can be made any time between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. any day of the week.

Time Commitment: Once a month. Volunteers are asked to choose a regular schedule and commit to it for at least 3 months to ensure consistency for the clients who rely on it.

This role is great for folks who...

  • Are comfortable engaging with people of all different backgrounds and life experiences.
  • Enjoy helping pet owners in your own community.
  • Work well independently.
  • Have a driver’s license and your own vehicle that you’re willing to use for volunteer purposes.
  • Are willing to volunteer without compensation for gas or other vehicle expenses.
  • Have a history of safe driving practices. Volunteers in these roles will be asked to provide a copy of their driving record as proof.

Mission Statement

Seattle Humane promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need, regardless of age, ability, circumstance or geography.

Description

Founded in 1897, Seattle Humane proudly promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need. We are one of the region’s leaders in animal adoption, education and welfare.

Seattle Humane is more than a shelter - we are a community resource center, providing adoption services, a pet food bank and support for pet owners, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and wellness exams, humane education for all ages and more. Our work is made possible by the support of a generous community, and through our outreach, advocacy and services we strive to ensure that animal companionship is accessible to all.

We believe everyone deserves a chance to experience the love of a pet and the lifelong benefits of the human-animal bond. With this lens, we will continue to expand our programs and services to impact as many lives as possible.
