On Saturday, June 3rd, The Olana Partnership will be holding our annual summer fundraiser entitled the Viewshed Tour. The Viewshed Tour is a self-guided outdoor exploration of private landscapes within singular views on both sides of the Hudson River. Guests are provided with a bagged lunch and a map and are encouraged to visit all of the listed properties for a picnic lunch, stroll, or to take in the great view.
Each volunteer will be stationed at one private property or landscape and will act as the OLANA liaison conducting check-in of guests and answering questions. Volunteer roles for this event include check-in, way-finding, and other event logistics assistance as needed.
This volunteer opportunity is a great way to get involved with OLANA and to learn more about the logistics of fundraising events.

Mission Statement
To inspire the public by preserving and interpreting Olana, Frederic Church's artistic masterpiece.
Description
The Olana Partnership is the non-profit support arm of Olana State Historic Site. Olana, located in Hudson, NY, is considered one of the most important artistic residences in the United States. It is the last and perhaps greatest masterpiece created by Hudson River School painter Frederic Edwin Church (1826-1900). Church designed and built his Persian style fantasy on the same hilltop where, as an eighteen-year-old student, he sketched spectacular views of the Catskills and the Hudson River alongside his mentor Thomas Cole.
Becoming a volunteer at Olana is a wonderful way to learn more about this unique and beautiful site, meet new people, and have a fun and rewarding experience.
We offer several opportunities and are always interested in speaking with prospective volunteers who have special skills or interests about other ways to contribute.
In appreciation for their contributions of time and energy, volunteers at Olana enjoy ongoing education and enrichment opportunities, trips to other museums and historic sites, and volunteer appreciation events throughout the year.
