Alzheimer's Association Mission: To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research.
Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer's disease.
We are looking for passionate committee members for The Longest Day (TLD), our annual "do-it-yourself" fundraising program! Help us fight the darkness of Alzheimer's and all other dementia by doing some you love and tacking on a fundraising component to it!The volunteer's role for The Longest Day includes all or some of the following: attending monthly committee meetings (currently virtual), brainstorming fundraising ideas for over 80 NYC fundraisers, making phone calls to participants, writing thank you cards, reaching out to your network and making connections, assisting with marketing of events, participating and sharing the TLD social media pages with your networks, fundraising on your own, etc.
Your Alzheimer's Association staff partner supports you throughout the program and is very flexible and happy to tailor your volunteer experience around your interests and schedule.
Ideal volunteers would have some of these traits: Enjoy connecting with people, passionate about ending Alzheimer's, enthusiastic, creative, strong network in NYC, graphic design, comfortable talking on the phone and a willingness to participate in or co-host events.
Monthly commitment: Approximately 3-4 hours per month. This will vary depending on the month, and as mentioned above, our staff partner is very flexible with what works for you. Volunteering begins in January 2023 and goes through the end of August 2023.

Description
The Alzheimer's Association was founded in 1980 by a group of family caregivers and individuals who recognized the need for an organization that would unite caregivers, provide support to those facing Alzheimer's, and advance research into the disease.
Today the Alzheimer's Association reaches millions of people affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias. We are the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. You can help advance our mission by volunteering for one of our signature fundraising events - the Walk to End Alzheimer's or The Longest Day.
