We are looking for Substitute Volunteer meal delivery drivers. Our drivers deliver meals to home-bound seniors within areas we serve at least one day a week, Monday - Friday. Our volunteers also provide kind and a friendly face to a population who often cannot leave their homes. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an immediate and personal difference to someone’s life.
Our substitute drivers are an invaluable group of volunteers who we contact when a regularly scheduled driver becomes unavailable due to illness or vacation. We try to give a week or two notice, but sometimes we may only have 1 days’ notice.
Our friendly volunteers deliver meals Monday through Friday typically between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM (excluding observed United States holidays) and usually finished their routes within 1 to 1 ½ hours.
We also need assistance with the packing, loading and cleanup of food to be delivered to home bound seniors on Thursdays from 8am-10:30am.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Must be +21 to drive- minors can accompany an adult with an application and documentation on file
- Completed Volunteer Application & background check
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration & proof of insurance for all drivers*
