If you have an hour or more per week to give, Gentiva Hospice welcomes your gifts of time and compassion. You can make a profound difference in someone's life, including your own. Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team.
Military Veterans have an important camaraderie that can make a profound difference at end-of-life. You have the ability to connect on a level that family and friends may not. Our Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer program strives to provide our Veteran hospice patients with the opportunity to receive companionship, understanding, and support from someone who has walked a mile in their shoes. As a Veteran volunteer you can foster reminiscence and healing, as well as help us to honor their service. A Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer will also assist with the honoring of our Veterans with a pinning and certificate ceremony, and other recognition events.
Hospice volunteers often say their experience is personally rewarding and emotionally meaningful to help those in need at a critical point in their lives. Your volunteer work is significant and can make a positive impact on the quality of others' lives.
We support a wide area, and visits would be set up convenient to you. Areas covered: Virginia Beach, Suffolk, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Portsmouth.
We look forward to hearing from you!
