If you have a desire to support a mission with tremendous impact then serve with us. We are in the process of expanding operations to increase our impact and are seeking passionate community members to join our volunteer committee. Committee members receive training and incentives while gaining experience in civic engagement. Employment opportunities with our nonprofit are awarded to our volunteers, which demonstrates the value we have for our volunteers time and commitment to the organization’s mission. As a volunteer you will participate in activities involving fundraising, operations, administration, media relations and community outreach. Selected volunteers will be asked to provide a copy of their updated resume, complete registration forms, and potentially a background check depending the committee assignment. Serve disadvantaged individuals throughout the United States from low income communities by increasing access to mental health services, resources and support for children, adults and families impacted by poverty and poverty-related issues, to bridge the gaps and strengthen community resilience through stewardship, economic opportunities, health and education equity.

Description

Counselors In The Community Association is a national 501c3 driven to increase mental health awareness and strengthen community resilience. Our association includes a collaborative alliance among counselors, mental health professionals, and community members nationwide to engage in civic activities that promote mental health awareness and resiliency. Through such allyship the organization strengthens anti-poverty initiatives that bridge the gaps on access to care and socioeconomic resources including programs, education and employment resources.

Since incorporating the nonprofit has been driving impact in social emotional learning, SEL and increasing access to counseling services for low income families. The organization also offer programs for youth leadership development, advocacy, community resources and programs that contribute to prosocial development and other services to close equity gaps

We are seeking volunteers to serve with us who share similar passions to increase mental health awareness and strengthen communities. Volunteers are the driving force our mission would be incomplete without and we welcome all with a passion too serve.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Volunteers commit a minimum of 30 hours per month, averaging 5 hours per week not including trainings and certifications offered to volunteers by the organization. Volunteers who nominate to lead committees commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week.
  • Must be able to work independently, self manage, and collaborative with virtual teams. Majority of activities will be virtual unless the volunteers activity includes mentoring, program operations or community outreach.
