Volunteer Position: Project Can Do Food and Veggies are fun
Department: Improving Lives of Children
Program: Dreamery Centers
Location: Edison Site
Director: Director of Food Services
Position Hours: Monday- Friday any time between 9:00 am to 1:00 pm THIS PROJECT RUNS APRIL 2023 THROUGH JUNE 2023

Mission Statement: Eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
Primary Function: Provide support and assistance with cleaning, peeling, slicing and dicing, and packaging fresh fruits and vegetables. Kitchen organization and sanitation. This position is ideal if you enjoy working in the kitchen.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have basic kitchen skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds.
- Must be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Must be willing to have a TB test if you volunteer for 4+ hours per week and more than two consecutive weeks.

Responsibilities:
- Receive training in and follow all guidelines of the Health Department
- Proper use of kitchen tools.
- Properly wash fruits and vegetables
- Peel, slice and dice fruits and vegetables.
- Proper storage of materials.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Help to clear and wash dishes.
- Work cooperatively with program participants, YWCA staff, and volunteers.
- Safeguard confidential information gained by volunteer position.

- Please join us as you are able to share your time. Once or twice a week would be great. If not, once a month would help! Anywhere from 1-3 hours each time. This project will begin in Mid-March and runs until Mid-June.
