We need volunteers to help with a variety of projects in our office. No special skills are required, but if you have particular areas of experience or interests, we are ready to discuss how we can best utilize your time and service. In addition, our office team volunteers play a valuable "behind the scenes" role in support of our nurses, aides, chaplains, and social workers who care for our hospice patients and families!

We need help organizing supplies, preparing mailings and newsletters, computer work, organizing paperwork and filing, preparing our "Honoring Our Veterans" materials, etc.

At Good Shepherd Hospice, we recognize and appreciate every volunteer's talents and gifts to our program!

Letter of recommendation awarded after 30 Volunteer Hours are completed.

Training provided. Join our team and advocate for all the good that Hospice does. Please visit our website at: www.goodshepherdhospice.com or contact Heather Hanagriff, Volunteer Coordinator, at 713-664-4447 or heather.hanagriff@goodshepherdhospice.com

Mission Statement

Serving people with compassion and dignity.

Description

COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.

At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.

We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.

Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease lonliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.

Our History - 21 Years of Comforting and Serving

Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. We now have a regional presence serving Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Along the way, we’ve touched the lives of more than 20,000 patients and shepherded 50, 000+ family members through their time of need. Every member of our team receives comprehensive, ongoing training. We are a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association, Medicare Certified and State Licensed.
