ORGANIZATION: Knowbility

Conference Registration & Help Desk Support are needed!

We are looking for energetic people who are enthusiastic about ensuring a positive guest experience through their very first touch-point, event registration.

Knowbility is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create a more inclusive digital world for people with disabilities. Our goal is to create a barrier-free world of information technology so that people with disabilities can fully participate in the business, educational and cultural marketplace.

John Slatin AccessU is an annual conference where tech professionals, content creators, policymakers, and advocates come together for deep learning in accessible digital design. Attendees will participate at St. Edward's University in Austin, TX, or virtually from around the world.


Registration duties include:

  • Welcome attendees upon arrival.
  • Use the computer to look up their registration on the conference platform.
  • Provide attendees with their name badges.
  • Provide attendees with conference details and walk them to their designated location.
  • Assist attendees with breakout selections.
  • Act as a liaison between St. Edward's University and the attendee to ensure a positive experience
  • Answer general event-related questions.
  • Ensure attendees are aware of preferred conference COVID protocols.

All volunteers are expected to:

  • Participate in training and orientation for AccessU
  • Work on average 5 hours per day they are scheduled

All volunteers will receive the following:

  • Knowbility t-shirt
  • For each shift worked, volunteers may attend 4 hours of AccessU activities at no charge - workshops, classes, keynotes, or social activities.
