ISO: Grant Writer Team Leader
After the start of the horrific war in Ukraine, PPSC (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center) mobilized to form the PPSC Refugee Support Project, a group of volunteers throughout the mental health and lay community, to provide crisis and support services to refugees, their families and service providers impacted by the war. Our services have since expanded to asylum seekers from South America, Haiti, the Middle East and other regions as well. Volunteers in the PPSC RSP fall into several categories: Licensed Clinicians/Therapists, Translators, Asylum Advocates and Administrative Volunteers.
- Referrals can be refugees, their loved ones, those hosting Ukrainian families, as well as direct care providers who are exhibiting signs of burnout.
- Our goal is to provide services as well as programming that supports the identified needs of refugees as the war continues.
Specifics
- Grant Writers will donate 1+ hours/week of pro bono support to PPSC RSP to secure grants for the work that we are doing.
- Team leader -- Experience in grant research and writing for non-profit organizations required. Leadership managing a small team of writers. Ability to set priorities, goals and deadlines, working with PPSC leadership in fundraising.
- Being that all members of RSP are volunteers, being a self-starter is a plus as is the capacity to work autonomously based on your indicated volunteer hours, while also working with a team.
- We welcome you to research grants and also to collaborate with other volunteers (optional) in securing/writing up grants for RSP.
- Both support staff and Administrative staff will be at your disposal.
- A PPSC supervisor will have in-depth knowledge of grants, RSP and workflows that can guide your efforts as needed.
- A stipend of $200 will be provided for each completed grant submission.
Professional letters of reference/recommendation from PPSC can be requested by Volunteers and will be awarded to those who are engaged in the role which they have expressed interest in.
