In light of the horrific war in the Ukraine and the ongoing migration crisis at the US borders, PPSC (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center) mobilized to form the PPSC Refugee Support Project, a group of volunteers throughout the mental health and lay community, to provide crisis and support services to refugees, their families and service providers impacted. Volunteers in the PPSC RSP fall into several categories: Licensed Clinicians/Therapists, Translators, Asylum Advocates and Administrative Volunteers. Specifics : Will familiarize yourself with our brief Manual, our database, and the Protocols Translators will donate 1+ hours per week (some weeks on standby) to support English-speaking clinicians, therapists, and intake team. Specific tasks to be delegated as needed based on Program needs. Timeliness in more urgent communications is a must. Being a self-starter is a must, as is the capacity to work autonomously yet efficiently based on your indicated volunteer hours. A Licensed Mental Health Provider will be your direct supervisor and can guide your efforts every step of the way. *** There are systems and workflows in place for each task (within reason) so we encourage an open mind, comfortibility with structure and fluidity, as well as recognition that as a Project we will support you/your needs every step of the way. Professional letters of reference/recommendation from PPSC can be requested by Volunteers and will be awarded to those who are engaged in the role which they have expressed interest in.

Volunteers in the PPSC RSP fall into several categories: Licensed Clinicians/Therapists, Translators, Asylum Advocates and Administrative Volunteers. In light of the horrific war in the Ukraine and the increasing migration at the southern US border, PPSC (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center) mobilized to form the PPSC's Refugee Support Project. We are a group of volunteers throughout the mental health community who provide crisis and support services to refugees and their families (remotely). We urgently need of therapists who can offer 1 hour/week pro bono (some weeks you’ll be on standby) to help us staff incoming referrals. The work is short term in nature (5 sessions, or longer term work based on your preferences). Applicants must be licensed in the state of New York. We ensure that Volunteers have access to translators, Humanitarian-based Clinical Support (Individual or group) led by Trauma Trained therapists, in-house trainings offered pro bono by Trauma Trained professionals in the field (discounted training rates of $25/training for Volunteers with CE’s available) and extensive resources to inform your Volunteerism. Other positions include Asylum Advocates (training provided free of charge) and Case Managers. We would be thrilled to offer you this Volunteer opportunity (professional letters of recommendation available upon request). Please feel free to spread the word! In light of the horrific war in the Ukraine, PPSC (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center) mobilized to form the PPSC Refugee Support Project (RSP), a group of volunteers throughout the mental health and lay community, to provide crisis and support services to refugees, their families and service providers impacted by the war. We are working to expand our services to refugees of various populations and are currently expanding to include Spanish-speaking support to our referrals. Volunteers in the PPSC RSP fall into several categories: Licensed Clinicians/Therapists, Translators, Asylum Advocates and Administrative Volunteers. ISO: Executive Assistant to Project Director of the Refugee Support Project Administrative volunteer may be licensed or unlicensed. Work under the supervision of the Project Director who is also a Clinical mentor. They will assist the Project Director with: being the right hand of the Project Director tasks such as communications (email, calls) within and outside of RSP Updating our excel database when a new Volunteer joins Updating documents in Google Drive, sharing them with Volunteers and Organizations as needed Updating Google Drive workflows and directory as needed reaching out to our internal teams (as needed) for updates and Director's requests Attending one Monthly All Teams meeting Setting up Zoom invites and ensuring that all Team Members receive it Misc. admin tasks Specifics: Being a self-starter is a must, as is the capacity to work autonomously yet efficiently. Strong ability to take initiative with assigned tasks Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and coordination of Project needs Ability to check email/texts 1-2 times daily, mostly for urgent issues (other tasks usually can be done within 72 hours) Knowledge of Google Drive and Zoom Russian/Ukrainian/Spanish speaking a HUGE plus! ISO: Grant Writer Team Leader In light of the horrific war in the Ukraine, PPSC (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center) mobilized to form the PPSC Refugee Support Project, a group of volunteers throughout the mental health and lay community, to provide crisis and support services to refugees, their families and service providers impacted by the war. Volunteers in the PPSC RSP fall into several categories: Licensed Clinicians/Therapists, Translators, Asylum Advocates and Administrative Volunteers. Referrals can be refugees, their loved ones, those hosting Ukrainian families, as well as direct care providers who are exhibiting signs of burnout. Our goal is to provide services as well as programming that supports the identified needs of refugees as the war continues. Specifics Grant Writers will donate 1+ hours/week of pro bono support to PPSC RSP to secure grants for the work that we are doing. Team leader -- Experience in grant research and writing for non-profit organizations required. Leadership managing a small team of writers. Ability to set priorities, goals and deadlines, working with PPSC leadership in fundraising. Being that all members of RSP are volunteers, being a self-starter is a plus as is the capacity to work autonomously based on your indicated volunteer hours, while also working with a team. We welcome you to research grants and also to collaborate with other volunteers (optional) in securing/writing up grants for RSP. Both support staff and Administrative staff will be at your disposal. A PPSC supervisor will have in-depth knowledge of grants, RSP and workflows that can guide your efforts as needed.
