Role Profile
We are looking for experienced, skilled and passionate individuals to join our operations team with the DG Sentinel.
This role will report to the COO and work closely with the Operations leadership team.
- Developing policies for hiring new volunteers and promoting existing volunteers to ensure that no discrimination occurs during the process
- Creating educational programs for volunteers on topics such as cultural awareness and sensitivity, conflict resolution, and leadership development
- Implementing strategies to increase diversity within an organisation by recruiting new volunteers from diverse backgrounds
- Designing, implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of diversity programs and initiatives to determine if they are meeting goals and objectives
- Establishing programs that promote awareness of discrimination issues in the workplace and encourage individuals to take responsibility for their actions
- Keep up to date with trends and make recommendations to the COO.
- Work with the Director of Community to develop an annual survey for the volunteers, collate results and make recommendations for improvements.
- Meet weekly with the COO
- Meet fortnightly with the operational leadership team
- Communication is key to our success - we use Slack as our primary method of internal communications, we ask that all volunteers check this regularly to communicate with their team and stay up to date with the latest developments.
- All teams have a weekly meeting which all individuals need to attend.
- We hold 10 all-in-volunteer meetings a year and ask that volunteers attend a minimum of 4
6 hours per week. We require a year-long commitment for most positions. We can be flexible on time and support vacations and unlimited leave with advance notice.
