Senior Fundraiser Role Overview: As a Senior Fundraiser at Yuvoice, you will play a pivotal role in securing financial support from diverse sources to advance our mission. We are seeking an experienced individual with a deep understanding of nonprofit policies, political landscapes, philanthropic networks, and effective fundraising strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of cultivating relationships with high-dollar donors, preparing proposals, navigating various fundraising mechanisms, and achieving significant financial milestones for nonprofit organizations. This role requires exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across regions and time zones. Responsibilities: Execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual financial goals. Identify and cultivate relationships with high-dollar donors, philanthropic organizations, grantors, and other potential funding sources. Document and report identified funders, policy, and social trends in Growth Department documents and in weekly team meetings. Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling fundraising proposals, applications, campaigns, events, and initiatives. Submit no less than two funding requests every month. Manage donor relationships effectively, ensuring timely reporting, communication, stewardship, and recognition. Foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization and among its stakeholders. Stay updated on best practices in nonprofit fundraising and grant management. Research and stay abreast of general country nonprofit policies and laws, national to local politics, and relevant social movements. Monitor media trends and supported democracy platforms to align fundraising efforts with current events and public sentiment. Track and report on fundraising metrics, including donor retention rates, donation levels, and campaign performance. Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and donor meetings. Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and/or grants management. Strong understanding of various fundraising mechanisms, including major gifts, grants, corporate giving, events, and online campaigns. Proven track record of securing five or more figure donations. Knowledge of nonprofit policies, laws, and ethical guidelines. Familiarity with national to local political landscapes and social movements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across regions and time zones. Strong organizational and project management skills. Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems Time Commitment: A Senior Fundraiser is expected to commit 10 hours per week, with flexibility around event dates and times. Role Profile - Director of Communications and Public Relations We’re building a great marketing and communications organisation, and have just completed a significant rebranding project to take ourselves to the next level; and we have a new product platform on the way to launch in 2024, too! The Director of Communications and Public Relations will work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and the broader Marketing Leadership Team to build a strong Public Relations team, and develop and execute our Public Relations Strategy for 2024, and beyond. A key area of focus is to build a broad team across public relations, media engagement, influencer and celebrity activation and engagement, as well as work to grow our partnerships with aligned media and other organisations. The person who comes in to lead the Public Relations team will be responsible for: Building and leading the volunteer team supporting the Public Relations Team, in agreement on priorities with the Chief Marketing Officer Secure frequent placements and appearances on key media platforms and publications Development, implementation and execution of our Public Relations Strategy for 2024 Leveraging and building strong connections across Public Relations with relevant press, media and social media partners Working in conjunction with our Executive Team and Executive Content Team, building our leaders’ presence in thought leadership, writing and speaking engagements furthering the Yuvoice mission Building and executing within the team a living message framework and calendar, to engage with moments of opportunity Managing the workload and flow of work through the Public Relations team in workstreams Supporting the Events team in key events and sponsorships with Public Relations materials and activation Who we are looking for To succeed in the role, we need a passionate professional who lives and breathes public relations, and tells a fantastic story; who understands and feels the impact of a truly effective strategic and tactical PR execution across all channels. We need someone who believes in the power of what Yuvoice can achieve, and wants to bring their professional PR acumen into play to take us several levels forward. A self starter, and a team player, the ideal person for this role is someone who wants to both build the vision and then execute. In addition; Six or more years’ experience in a senior Public Relations role, agency side or client side Strong connections in key media outlets in key markets essential Comfortable in PR strategy development and execution across all skills areas Experience in setting the direction and supporting the growth of an influencer and/or celebrity engagement Demonstrated expertise in building a compelling and engaging public relations campaign, with specific outcomes achieved, in a relevant sector Some people leadership and/or project management experience A can do attitude! Commitment & Location 8-10 hours per week. We require a year-long commitment for most positions. We can be flexible on time and support vacations and unlimited leave with advance notice.
