Visiting Terminally ill patients that still have the desire to visit with people and make a new friend. All visits are companionship only and require a smile and sometime some ingenious ideas of games, or things to do. Some facilities have Activities that the patient might engage in, some days they feel better than others. They just want a friendly face and someone to visit them.

We seek over 18 years old or a guardian that can supervise the visit. The facilities have rules and obligations, so we cannot compromise those rules. You must be able to provide your own transportation, and be obligated to visit at lease once a week. We are a Hospice organization, and require a frequency for all patients, as they go into a plan of care.

Please don't let the above information put you off, but legal things happen when you volunteer for patients. I will gladly explain all the rules we need to follow to you at an interview.

We strive to connect with all of our patients and provide personalized physical, mental and spiritual care.

Description

Providing care and comfort to patients. Opportunities include direct patient visitation and administrative support. We provide feedback to schools for volunteer credit. We provide internships for those in nursing and social work. Travel will be limited, with the exception of internships, which may be only to visit different sites. Our goal is to provide companionship as well as socialization to those who express desire to have a volunteer visit. Our scope of activities may be limitless, we help with light housekeeping, running errands, helping with activities, quiet time to reflect and hear life experiences.
