ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

Purpose:
This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services (ISD) department. This is a virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This position will support the International Services Department in various capacities (designer, analyst, archivist, IM/KM, etc.) to help improve the SharePoint/Teams environment to better support their mission-driven work. They will work across ISD units and groups under the supervision of the ISD Dedicated SharePoint Admin.

Responsibilities:

Under guidance and supervision of ISD SharePoint Admin the volunteer will collaborate across all ISD units on various projects to include:

  • Create, maintain and implement records management systems and/or archiving
  • Administration, design and implementation of site pages, document libraries, wikis, etc. using SharePoint tools and capabilities (web parts, metadata, quick links, etc.)
  • Collaborate with individuals and teams to understand their SharePoint needs and work on solutions to provide an intuitive, end-user experience
  • Participate in curation and maintenance of SharePoint guidance and resources
  • Migration of documents and data to new structure
  • Clean-up of existing data
  • Ongoing site administration as needed, which may include: Adding new features to site and Updating security and permissions o Adding new users

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Broad understanding of the American Red Cross and its opportunities for service
  • Respectful maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to learn
  • Work well individually and with others
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Substantial experience with SharePoint administration or development
  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably and independently navigate IT systems
  • Comfortable working independently and with minimal supervision
  • Reliable access to internet during volunteer hours
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies

Preferred:

  • SharePoint certification

Training:
  • International Services provides standard orientation to the American Red Cross, International Services Department
  • ISD Dedicated Admin will provide orientation to the SharePoint Focal Point group
  • Introduction to department’s existing use of SharePoint and business needs
Length Of Appointment:
Minimum 6 month commitment, renewable
