We’re looking for a Public Relations Manager with expertise to gear up a plan to educate our community on fostering dogs and create meaningful community partnerships to ensure we save more neglected dogs in Los Angeles.
Our passionate team of volunteers is missing one key member to help us strategize communication and spread foster awareness. Perhaps this is you!
This position is for an established PR professional who is ready to make a long-term volunteer commitment to save voiceless lives with a committed open minded team. We’re looking for someone to bring our mighty rescue to the next level.
You’ll have support from our Executive Director, Board and team members, but being an autonomous person is key and desired. Depending on the stage of the strategy implemented, a typical week could be 3-4 hours on the weekend or if you prefer during the week. All virtual, unless you’d like to attend events and meet regularly in person.
Responsibilities:
- Seek opportunities for relevant partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising in L.A.
- Research and find people who are passionate and willing to cover dog rescue stories and education
- Cultivate business partnerships in the community and maintain relationships
- Help with managing/foreseeing any PR issues
- Depending on the strategies and stages, build out a volunteer team to report directly to you
Requirements
- Passion for dogs and animal welfare
- Experience in Public Relations and Communications
- Experience with pitching and writing
Preferred but not required: BSc/BA in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or a related field
