Pet Therapy Teams needed to brighten hospice patient's day!

ORGANIZATION: Chapters Health System (Hospice)

We are in need of Pet Therapy Teams in Polk County to brighten the day for our hospice patients. Do you have a therapy pet that would love to be cuddled and loved on by patients? If so, we would love to have you join our team. Pets need to have received the Canine Good Citizen Award and then be certified by a therapy dog organization. We can help with that process. We have patients that reside at home, assisted living, and skilled nursing communities that would love to have a furry friend visit them. If interested, please call me today. Pat Gruber 863-242-9416. You will need to attend a hospice training, undergo a two step Tuberculosis Skin Test administered in our office then do level 2 fingerprinting that we pay for. Once you and your pet are certified we will be very happy to assign you to visits.

About Chapters Health System (Hospice)

Location:

2445 Lane Park Road, Southridge Office, Tavares, FL 32778, US

Mission Statement

Chapters Health System mission is simple: Delivering extraordinary care to every person we touch in every community we serve. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the seven Central Florida counties we serve: Hardee, Highlands, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk and Sumter, and now in Cobb County, Georgia. If you live in a neighboring county, you can still volunteer. However, all of your volunteer activities will take place in one of our seven counties, typically the one closest to you. PLEASE NOTE: Even if you are interested in several different volunteer roles within our organization, you only need to click on one opportunity during this process. You will have a chance to discuss ALL of your areas of interest during your volunteer training. Thanks!

Description

Chapters Health System volunteers are a vital part of our entire organization, and play an active role in helping to provide the many special comfort and support services that distinguish Chapters Health System.

Our volunteers are special, but not out of the ordinary. They are regular people just like you. They use common sense and understanding. They do not need a medical background. They listen. They care. Volunteers help make a patient's life more fulfilling and satisfying by giving their time, understanding, and support and asking nothing in return. They also provide support to caregivers who are often with the patient 24/7 and may need a much needed break. If direct care is not for you, you can assist with administrative tasks at our office locations, and help out with events and community outreach. Any Chapters Health System volunteer will tell you that they feel they receive more from their experience than they give.

PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers are required to go through a training class with additional training required for some positions. For this reason, becoming a Chapters Health System volunteer is typically not appropriate for court related community service hours or other short-term requests. Ideally, our volunteers commit to at least one year with us.
