ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Gulf Islands National Seashore is seeking to fill four (4) campground hosts at the Fort Pickens Campground. Fort Pickens Campground is located on a barrier island between the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola Bay, a short distance south of Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, Florida.


Campground hosts work 32 hours per week, per person from August 1 - November 30, 2023. Host duties include greeting and assisting visitors by answering questions, explaining regulations, assisting guests with locating their campsite, and performing light maintenance and clean up around the campground. Hosts must be friendly, outgoing, and willing to seek guests out. Hosts will not be required to handle any law enforcement issues. All violations to the local dispatch and law enforcement rangers will be contacted.


Park staff will provide training and support for assigned duties. Hosts perform duties independently without direct supervision. Staff will make regular contact to provide support, heavy maintenance, and regulatory compliance.


An RV pad with hookups will be provided. Due to the size of the RV pad, all equipment (including RV and tow vehicle) must be 45 feet in length or less.
