Can you lead Senior Gleaners in 2024?
This San Diego County non-profit is expanding service areas and developing a strategic plan. To accomplish these projects, we are seeking TWO people to fill the roles of president and vice president and lead our organization. We are looking for candidates NOW for board vice president to begin serving immediately and to assume the role of president in January of 2024. We also need a vice president to be nominated in November to begin service in January. The positions are vital to the continued operation and success of our organization and will be supported by our board of directors. Ideal candidates for these positions should have a passion for our mission and leadership experience in organization management or board membership, but these qualifications are not mandatory. Candidates need not have direct gleaning experience.
The volunteer members of the Board of Senior Gleaners set policy, lead in fund raising, exercise fiduciary responsibility, and have hiring authority. The board approves the annual budget, policies and plans to fulfill the organization’s mission. The board consults with and oversees the work of the part-time administrative assistant.

Board members may be of any age, should reflect the communities that we serve, and bring personal skill-sets that enhance the oversight and management of the organization. Members attend quarterly meetings in person or virtually. Between meetings, they work on committee assignments. Members are expected to make an annual financial contribution. Approved by a vote of the board, officers serve for a term of two years and may serve an additional two years in the same position.
