Estamos buscando tutores que hablen español e inglés con fluidez.
El Centro para la Educación y Capacitación de Inmigrantes (CIET) de LaGuardia Community College está buscando tutores voluntarios para apoyar el Centro de aprendizaje en línea de CIET. CIET Online Learning Hub ofrece apoyo académico en línea personalizado en Matemáticas, Ciencias y ELA a niños en edad escolar de bajos ingresos. Tutores voluntarios harán posible que CIET continúe abordando las inequidades educativas agudizadas por la pandemia. Para ser voluntario, requerimos que cumpla con los siguientes criterios:
-Estar disponible para ser voluntario durante al menos 2 horas semanales.
-Proporcione tutoría cualquier día de la semana después de las 4:00 p. m. o los fines de semana
-Comprometerse a apoyar a los niños de Alfabetización Familiar de CIET para mejorar sus habilidades de lectura, escritura, ciencias y matemáticas y/o ayudarlos con la tarea.
-Comprometerse a seguir todas las políticas y procedimientos de CIET, incluidos la confidencialidad y los límites.
-Proporcionar comentarios sobre el progreso de los estudiantes y/o inquietudes al personal de CIET.
-Debe sentirse cómodo usando una plataforma en línea como Zoom.
-Debe tener 18 años o más

The Center for Immigrant Education and Training (CIET) at LaGuardia Community College offers free, contextualized English classes and job training programs, along with career counseling and case management services to low-income Queens immigrants and their families. Our goal is to support our students in becoming lifelong learners and independent, contributing citizens of New York City.
