ORGANIZATION: USDA Forest Service

Wade Lake Campground is located 37 miles south of the town of Ennis, Montana home of the Madison River, which is world renowned for its trout fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities. At an elevation of 6400 ft, the campground is surrounded by a douglas fir and aspen trees. Wade Lake Campground is where the host site sits with water and septic hookups. The 21-unit campground shares the Cliff & Wade recreation area with two other campgrounds, separated by less than one mile. The Cliff Point campground is on Cliff Lake (6 campsites) and Hilltop Campground (18 campsites) sits above both Wade Lake and Cliff Lake. Roads to all three campgrounds are dirt, and hiking trails connect all three campgrounds. Moose, deer, elk, grizzly bears, black bears, and mountain lions are just a few of the species in this area. Restrooms, water, fire rings, picnic tables, and tent pads are provided to the public at three fee campgrounds.

The camp host/hosts are crucial in the daily implementation of the reservation system on the ground. Cliff Point Campground and Wade Lake are 100% on the reservation system and are reserved through rec.gov.
