ORGANIZATION: Loyola Medicine

Earn resume-building field experience while enhancing the hospital experience for our patients and families. Receive an introduction to patient care within a hospital setting.

Volunteers will serve as a liaison for guests and patients in the waiting room with wayfinding information and general questions they may have. Offer encouragement and support to patients and their families to help relieve anxieties while they wait. Help foster a calm and positive environment in departments throughout the medical center by serving as a waiting room ambassador.

Volunteers must be able to serve at least one 4-hour shift, same days and times each week, for a minimum of six consecutive months. We are unable to accept short-term or summer-only volunteers.


Volunteers must:
- complete the online volunteer application and screening process
- have patience and a desire for working with children
- be at least 18 years old and have completed high school
- commit to serving at least one day per week, same day and time each week, for six or more months
