You can make a difference in the life of a child, and add meaning and income to your own life at the same time!

The Foster Grandparent Program offers seniors ages 55+ opportunities to mentor and care for children with special needs. Foster Grandparents serve 15-25 hours per week at non-profit sites such as Head Start programs, homeless shelters, schools (FWCS & EACS), church day care centers, and private non-profit childcare centers. Paid time off is allowed for holidays, vacation, and illness. If Foster Grandparents meet income guidelines, they recive a tax-free stipend that does not affect other benefits such as subsidized housing or Medicaid. Transportation costs are reimbursed at 50c per mile. Grandparents also get to attend a spring Recognition event, summer picnic, and Winter luncheon! As a part of the Foster Grandparent Program, you will make new friends, have something meaningful to fill your time, and help to share today and shape tomorrow!
