Help for Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (HHCP) is a nurse-owned, registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering underserved communities with health education and access to care. We support healthcare professionals and first responders across Georgia through crisis relief, education, and advocacy programs. As we approach our fifth year of operation, HHCP is transitioning from a 100% volunteer-led organization to hiring at least five employees as we scale to better serve our mission.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and visionary leader to join our organization as the Board Chair. This is a volunteer role that offers a unique opportunity to lead our nonprofit during an exciting period of growth and restructuring. The Board Chair will play a critical role in guiding HHCP's strategic direction, ensuring effective governance, and driving the organization’s mission to support healthcare professionals and underserved communities.

Our Current Challenge:

As we restructure, our immediate goal is to secure sustainable operational funding and bring on fractional C-Suite leadership to elevate HHCP to the next level. The Board Chair will be instrumental in steering our strategic efforts, supporting our transition from a volunteer-led organization, and helping us achieve sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and guidance to the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with HHCP's mission, goals, and strategic plan.
  • Governance: Oversee and ensure effective governance practices, including board meetings, organizational policies, compliance, and adherence to HHCP's bylaws.
  • Fundraising and Advocacy: Support and actively participate in fundraising efforts, including identifying funding opportunities, cultivating donor relationships, and advocating for HHCP’s mission.
  • Board Development: Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new board members, ensuring a diverse, skilled, and engaged board.
  • Partnership Building: Represent HHCP at events, meetings, and in the community, fostering partnerships and alliances to support the organization's growth and sustainability.
  • Support and Supervision: Work closely with the Executive Director (or acting leadership) to provide guidance, support, and mentorship, ensuring effective execution of HHCP's programs and initiatives.
  • Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the Board Treasurer and Finance Committee to ensure financial stability, transparency, and accountability, including the review and approval of annual budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience, preferably serving as a Board Chair, Vice Chair, or other executive leadership role within a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, fundraising, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating donor relationships and securing funding.
  • Passion for HHCP's mission and a commitment to supporting healthcare professionals and underserved communities.
  • Ability to dedicate time and energy to lead the board effectively, with the flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of a growing organization.

Why Volunteer with Us?

  • Lead During a Transformative Phase: As Board Chair, you will guide HHCP through a critical growth phase, directly impacting the sustainability and success of our programs.
  • Shape Our Future: Your leadership will be pivotal in transitioning HHCP from a volunteer-led organization to a more structured and sustainable nonprofit.
  • Meaningful Impact: Contribute to a cause that supports healthcare professionals and strengthens communities, helping HHCP expand its reach and impact.
