HELP FROM HATTIE is a nonprofit based in Henry County that serves 8 other counties. The mission of this organization is to achieve health equity for the vulnerable populations in Georgia. Through our access to a better health program, we conduct health assessments and support for individuals with chronic illnesses. This is not a direct care volunteer opportunity. Volunteer nurses will be providing patient education and health coaching to participants in the community.

A valid nursing license and state ID are required.

Counties served are
Clayton, Henry, Athens-Clarke, Fayette, Spalding, Coweta, DeKalb

4 Shifts

  • morning / 08:00 AM to 11:45 AM
    Volunteer decides how many days/hours they work minimum 4 hours per week.
  • afternoon / 12:00 PM to 04:45 PM
    Volunteer decides how many days/hours they work minimum of 4 hours per week.
  • evening / 05:00 PM to 10:00 PM
    Volunteer decides how many days/hours they work with a minimum of 4 hours per week.
  • 09:30 PM to 08:30 AM
    Volunteer decides how many days and hours they work with a minimum of 4 hours per week.

We address community health, chronic illness and STIs, and nutritional insecurity. We deliver every service and honor every partnership with diversity, equity, and inclusion, every voice that needs to be heard.

Description

At Help From Hattie, we engage with community members to assess needs and provide the services and items they need to achieve optimal living. We conduct community health assessment days, fairs, and family fun events like bowling, relays, and community meals. We need assistance making posters, filling nags with supplies for the public, sign-in sheets, and any social media savvy folks to spread the word about our work. If you love people and want to have a great time join our team.

  • 4 hours per week services are provided between 8a and 9p with an on-call overnight shift as well. Volunteer decides how many days and hours they will offer and must commit to 3 months of volunteering for continuity. 4 hours per week minimum.
