This volunteer opportunity is a relatively simple concept: Host a "lemonade" stand in your community and promote inclusive play all while raising awareness and funds for EAPP via a virtual platform.

If you are interested in participating, please contact us directly, and one of our board members will send you a preparation checklist and volunteer waiver form. If, after reading the preparation checklist, you feel this is a fundraiser you are capable and willing to host in your own community, you will sign the volunteer waiver form and return it to us, along with:
1. The date you anticipate having your fundraiser
2. The names of any individuals you anticipate assisting you in your fundraiser

EAPP will then email you the additional information you will need to host your fundraiser.

Once your fundraiser is complete, EAPP will happily email you a letter confirming your participation. Please allow up to 30 days from the date of your event for this letter to be completed.

If you have any additional questions, or would like to discuss the details further please do not hesitate to reach out!

**PLEASE NOTE: Any expenses incurred by volunteers associated with the fundraiser (such as purchasing lemonade and supplies) is at the expense of the volunteer and will not be reimbursed in any way by Every Ability Plays Project or its members. By agreeing to host a fundraiser, the volunteer accepts all risk and liability associated with preparing for, carrying out, and completing their fundraiser for EAPP.**

About Every Ability Plays Project

Location:

2105 Vista Oeste St NW, Suite E - 1236, Albuquerque, NM 87120, US

Mission Statement

At Every Ability Plays Project we believe every child deserves a playful life. We want children and young adults with mobility impairments, hearing and vision impairments, autism spectrum disorders, and all other disabilities to be given the opportunity to develop alongside their peers and experience all the joy and benefits of play. Every Ability Plays Project’s mission is to remove barriers and expand the world of play for children and young adults with disabilities by providing adaptive equipment which supports play in their neighborhood playgrounds and communities, as well as their own backyards. Our vision is to create an inclusive community that encourages socialization and play among children, adults, and families of all abilities.

Description

Founded in 2014, EAPP is a grassroots non-profit based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We want children and young adults with mobility impairments, hearing and vision impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and all other disabilities to be given the opportunity to develop alongside their peers and experience all the joy and benefits of play.

Physical activity, such as the physical movement that many children participate in during play, can have a significant impact on development, quality of life, and future health outcomes for children with disabilities. Despite these many benefits, most play environments in our neighborhoods and communities have only traditional play equipment that is not accessible to individuals with disabilities.

By integrating adaptive playground equipment with traditional playground equipment EAPP hopes to provide children of all abilities with the opportunity to participate in play alongside their peers; decreasing many of the negative stigmas associated with disability and positively impacting both physical and psychological health outcomes for years to come.
