Volunteer

Some of our hospice patients need a volunteer that can communicate through sign language. Are you proficient in communicating using sign language? If so, your gift of language can help make a difference to patients facing a terminal illness.

Turn a few hours a week into priceless moments for hospice patients and their families. Give your time, talents and skills to make a difference in their lives and increase meaning and purpose in your own life. Experience significant opportunities for personal growth and development. Be appreciated.

As part of our hospice team you can:

  • Provide companionship and socialization to patient and family
  • Provide needed non-medical services, letter writing, respite care and assisting with family needs
  • Provide support at the time of death and during bereavement

The scheduling is flexible and training is provided. You just need to be 18 or over.

Please contact Volunteer Manager, Yvette Williams at yvette.williams@silverado.com or CALL 888.328.4558.

Our main office is in Kearny Mesa, but you can volunteer in your own neighborhood anywhere in San Diego County.
